5 Week Beginners Screenprinting – Simon Tozer

5 Week Beginners Screenprinting – Simon Tozer

Tuesday 18 April – 23 May 2023

(No class on Tuesday 2 May)

1.30pm – 4.30pm

This course is both for complete beginners and those with a little past experience of screen printing. You will be guided through the essential steps needed to create a screenprint from your own drawing or photograph, using photo emulsion to transfer an image onto a screen.  Along the way you will learn the basics of working with layers, colour mixing, and print alignment, and of course the thrill of learning to print using a squeegee.   You will come away both with a clutch of prints, and a desire to do more of this exciting and rather addictive print process.

Simon Tozer has a degree in Fine Art and an MA in Printmaking from Chelsea College of Art.   He has been screen printing for over 30 years, and teaching screen printing for 18 years.  He uses painting, drawing and screen printing to create visual stories that are both humorous and personal.
