Contemporary Relief Printmaking 3

Monday April 19 2021
4/6 people

This absorbing course has been broken down into 3 separate terms for you to choose from.  We have adapted it to fit in with the fluid sate of the current pandemic.

Two experienced artist tutors show you how to explore the beauty and potential of one of the oldest forms of printmaking and how it can be used to produce powerful and striking images. You will learn and experiment with this wonderful method of printmaking and be encouraged to look at contemporary artists who use relief, to extend your own visual printmaking vocabulary. Starting with linocut, you will get to grips with both the reduction and multiblock techniques, before moving on to exploring the potential of woodcut and wood engraving, collagraph and printing on to fabric.

CRP 2 will draw you in if you are a beginner and for those of you with more experience, or if you have completed CRP 1 in autumn,  you will be able to develop personal projects and ideas whilst benefitting from the constant tutor support and  technique demonstrations. This course is designed to give you a sustained and intensive period of study in a specialist area and an excellent opportunity to build a portfolio of work, to develop confidence and ideas in your own practice.
