In this 2 day workshop we will look at selection of artist’s books and their covers and go through the processes of experimental printing onto fabric and simple typesetting, planning layouts for folded book structures, and printing on the rare Vandercook 232P press together.
Students will have a chance to discover the hidden fonts at Spike Print Studio’s letterpress corner, and we will work together on planning, printing and assembling a small edition of experimental artist’s books with very unique hand printed textile covers.
The workshop will be suitable for beginners, providing tips on how to start your letterpress and book arts journey safely; word games, poetry and puns will be encouraged.
