Peter Reddick Bursary Award 2021-2022
Unusual times call for unusual solutions and we are offering this award during an unpredictable and fluid time as we emerge from Covid-19 and its implications.
We have changed the parameters of this award and hope that they will inspire creative and unusual applications for this established and well respected award.
We are offering a bursary worth £2500 to a new graduate to support their practice in relief printing. We are particularly interested in graduates who are innovative and experimental whilst using the oldest of print techniques. The bursary is for 1 year and awards membership to the studio with full support, learning opportunities and professional development.
We are fully aware that many graduate opportunities have been withdrawn but we hope to make this an absorbing and flexible award. As we move forward we hope that studio access will be much easier and if it is curtailed at any point we will offer online support/tutorials/CPD sessions.
We hope the successful candidate will have the ability address the uncertainties of the time by how they approach the work, manage the work and deliver a final exhibition in September 2022.
The limits on creativity that a project demands have been useful to produce work as they are an immediate focus and help to block out some of the noise and anxiety that we have all been experiencing.
Our past awardees have all stated that the opportunity to develop over the year is unrivalled, and the recognition by Spike Print Studio was a huge part aspect of their career development – a solo and the bursary are seen as significant on their CVs.
