Saturday 8 February welcomes The Peace Paper Project to Spike Print Studio for an excellent free workshop! Members of the studio and public can come along and turn there old pants, vests, and cotton socks into sheets of paper which they can then use to draw, write or print onto.
The Peace Paper Project is an American travelling paper studio that uses the transformation of significant items of clothes into paper as a way to express individual experience and stories. The Peace Paper Project has worked with a number of veterans and people who have experience domestic or gender related violence around the world and helping them come to terms with their experiences by creating paper as a platform for further positive creative action.
The Piece Paper Project will be coming to the South West on their European tour and have kindly offered a free workshop for Spike Print Studio. The workshop is on Saturday the 8t FebruRY from 10am – 4pm. So bring down any old underclothes you may have and have a great day making paper sheets and meeting these inspiring artists.
One pair of pants makes about 10-15 sheets of paper.
Booking is essential. There are limited places to take part on the actual course due to space so email info@spikeprintstudio.org to let us know if your wanting to take part or just to observe. And check out some of the great work the peace paper project have done at their website.
