SPS/UWE Scholarship
The SPS UWE Scholarship was initiative set up by Spike Print Studio and UWE, Bristol. Working in partnership, the two organisations are creating opportunities for UWE, Bristol students and Spike Print Studio members.
We seek progressive educational collaborations with outside organisations. We are continuously looking for ways to make art work for young people who have limited access to the arts. We are working with Young Carers in Bristol to provide them with summer respite by delivering free workshops and from since September 2017 have run monthly free session for displaced people providing them with an opportunity to work creatively in an active and engaged studio.
SPS works with young people through Show Me How, a collaborative partnership with UWE, Aardman Animations, Rising Arts Agency, local schools and community groups to create an innovative community printmaking education project for young people (16-25) who have limited access to the arts. It connects and engages with young people across Bristol through collaborative partnerships At the core of the collaborative partnerships is the assertion that involvement in the arts will make a transformative difference to young people’s lives.
