1-Year Textile Printmaking – PORTFOLIO COURSE
£1,475
1-year course led by Emma Studd
Monday 23 September 2024 – 14 July 2025
9:30am – 12:30pm
Course Outline
During this course you will experiment with a range of printmaking techniques to develop and transform your own drawings or found images into repeat pattern and surface decoration within textile design.
It is a practical, workshop based course that will include screenprint, stencils, linoprint, collagraph, blockprint, monoprinting, and heat transfer.
The principles and theories of design and pattern will be introduced through research, the study of contemporary artists and the development of your own personal ideas from the image through mood boards, experimentation, samples, colour ways and final pieces.
The course will also consider the exciting commercial application of these techniques and how designs, repeat pattern and print can be used on products such as cushions, tote bags, t-shirts and scarves.
You will also have the opportunity to complete a personal project at the end of this course which will be exhibited in an end of year show.
