10-Week Etching 2 (Intermediate) with Emma Gregory

£360

Tuesday 16 April – 2 July 2024
6pm – 9pm

A deep dive into aquatints – course and fine, stencilled and hand shaken, layered and etched to achieve the gradated tones of an ombré, a wide selection of stop out options and three types of sugar lift. Experiential learning in a relaxed and well supported environment with a playful and well qualified tutor.

This block of learning is for individuals who have completed the beginners’ etching course (which will run again in the autumn), and for experienced etchers.

Emma Gregory trained in printmaking at Central School of Art, learning from Norman Ackroyd who was then Head of Etching and subsequently to postgraduate level at UCLan prior to qualifying as a teacher in HE.  She has taught print technique since 2005 and in 2008 redeveloped the print studios at The Bluecoat in Liverpool which she managed for the following seven years. She is a regular contributor to Printmaking Today and Occasional Lecturer on UWE’s MA in Multidisciplinary Print.

As an artist, Emma makes work in many mediums and creates development opportunities for other artists from her base at Bricks’ St. Anne’s House, continuing to build on a long career as an arts producer and educator (Riverside Studios, Yorkshire Dance, The Bluecoat, The Hayward, Whitechapel, National Theatre, Holburne Museum).
