Print your own Furoshiki with Lisa Takahashi

£50

Tuesday 10 Dec 2024

1pm – 4pm

Furoshiki are highly practical, traditional Japanese wrapping cloths. A little like an oversized handkerchief, they can be knotted into a handy bag within minutes, or used to wrap gifts, again and again! Their reusability makes them an eco-friendly approach to wrapping gifts.
And learn how to linocut at the same time!
On this workshop, we will consider how to decorate our furoshiki using print. We’ll spend time drawing patterns and motif ideas before we cut our ideas into lino and print using permanent, washing-machine safe inks. Once our furoshiki are printed and heat-set, we’ll look at how we can use them, from turning them into shoulder bags to wrapping bottles of wine and books!
