Hand-Printed Artists’ Books – exhibition
We Are Here: hand-printed artists’ books made at Spike Print Studio, Bristol
Time: Thurs 29 October – Weds 25 November 2015
Venue: Exeter Library, Castle Street, Exeter EX4 3PQ
Spike Print Studio’s 1 year Book Arts students will be exhibiting their work as part of the exhibition programme of Redefining Print.
We Are Here brings together books made by nine students who have been working individually and collaboratively on the Hand-Printed Artists’ Books Course at Spike Print Studio. Over the past ten months they have all folded, bound, coated, carved, made, re-made, thought, printed, rolled, marked, discussed, glued, pressed and constructed. They have been developing their conceptual and technical skills and abilities in all aspects of book-making to form their own practice in artists’ books.
Double Elephant Print Workshop was awarded funding 2 years ago to explore ideas about the definition of print and how artists work in print culminating in a symposium and exhibitions in November.
