Jane Ormes

Jane Ormes is a printmaker and designer living and working in Bristol.

She has been freelancing successfully since 1987 but has recently concentrated on her love of printmaking when she became a member of Spike Print Studio.  She had supplied galleries across the country with her whimsical , brightly coloured handmade screenprints, which went on to see her work with Marks and Spencer,Ikea and English Country Pottery . She has illustrated 9 children books ,even had her designs printed onto chocolate.

More recently her work has taken a new direction with the discovery of a love of drypoint etching , which she was able to explore during lockdown after buying a small portable press .

Her influences include children s illustrator Brian Wildsmith, Picasso and Scandinavian design .

Career highs have been spotting one of her Christmas card designs on the Queen s desk , spying one of her prints in an episode of Coronation Street, and rumours that Daniel Craig has in his possession one of her cards that features his famous trunks from Casino Royale.
