SPS members work at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

Several Spike Print Studio members; Chitra Parvathy Merchant, Anna Harley, Ros Ford, Susan Gradwell, Anna Warsop and Emma Stibbon RA, have had work selected for the Summer exhibition at the Royal Academy this year.

Exhibiting members took part in the traditional Varnishing Day Reception yesterday, which was held in the galleries, preceded by a service for artists at St James’s Church. Anna Harley, one of our members who attended yesterdays event, said that, ‘processing down Piccadilly behind the likes of Tracy Emin and Norman Ackroyd, accompanied by a steel band, in the glorious June sunshine was a truly exhilarating experience. I had a huge grin on my face for the whole day and will never forget the feeling of walking up the central staircase inside the Royal Academy to view an exhibition I was in! We were then treated to a champagne and strawberry reception while we viewed the exhibition and looked for our work.’
