#supportourstudio
We all love print and Spike Print Studio is a place to fall in love with print.
We provide the equipment and tutors to support people of all abilities and ages to experience the joy of printmaking, but our studio which has been here since 1977 is struggling like many other arts organisations.
SOS Buy a Print: our amazing professional members are printing exclusive, limited edition prints and are donating all the proceeds to the studio to help it survive the next few bumpy months. We do not rely on grants for our sustainability and are normally self sufficient through membership fees, our learning programme and print sales.
The Arts Council England has given us £25,000 Covid-19 rescue money to develop our online support, developing blended learning programmes; mixing online support, home-loan equipment with tuition & use of the studio. Piloting this with our core 1 Year courses we have retained our students for the new year. e group at home & half in the studio with alternate week studio attendance. Under particular threat is our work with our vulnerable artists, young carers, refugees and young homeless. Quartet Community Foundation have given us a small grant to continue this work through home printing packs and tutor.
Print is an art form that communicates across borders, offering a unique prism through which to view society.
Don’t just admire, take possession. First up! These beautiful prints are for sale.
