Introducing Elliot Steele

Elliot Steele is the other new member technician at SPS. He will be joining Rosie McLay, who we featured last week, to eventually manage the Wednesday and Thursday evening access sessions.

Elliot is 23 years old and graduated from Middlesex University in July 2015 with a BA (Hons) in Illustration. He retuned home to Bristol where he became a part-time member at Spike Print Studio.

My working practice revolves around method and technique. I draw with a continuous line, which helps me to observe more intensely and slows down my everyday thought process. The method allows me to engage with my subject and the moment within it.

I started printmaking in what I feel is to become my main printing discipline, etching and aquatint. I really enjoy all the of stages of the process, as is the case with many printing methods I explore. I practice and have practised in relief printing and silk screen.
